Tuesday 22ND March 2011

On Tuesdays lesson, we had a visitor in, her name was Amy.
She took our 2 hour sessions and did a few excersises with us which helped us alot.

At the start of the first session, she got us to stand in a space, arms space apart and did a few stretches with us which involved co-ordination and balance. They prevented us from injury and vocal injury. For example, stretching really tall, then making ourselves really small. Also using facial expressions to warm the muscles up in our face. We did excersises which involved getting on the floor and do a strengthening excersise.

In the second session we did a fun excersise which made me feel very embarrassed however it was good to excersise our vocal skills. Talking gibberish. We had to create a conversation on any subject using gibberish language. A few performed and we went through each one a few times because Amy helped us perfect our vocal projection because if we were practising in that tone + pitch everyday, we would hurt our vocal cords.

We used a technique where we pretended to 'yawn' and then say the speech. This projects the voice more without hurting our vocal cords. This helped us within our vocal practising and understanding of characters, it helped the understanding of the characters the way they project their speech and the way they talk in their peformance.
